This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
The series Solo Leveling features many incredibly powerful characters who could easily cause destruction. However, instead of being a danger to the public, most of these individuals work as Hunters.
Those familiar with Solo Leveling know the story takes place in a world constantly threatened by strange creatures emerging from magical gates. To combat these monsters and prevent destruction, people called Hunters are tasked with fighting them. However, not all Hunters are equal – some possess incredible power and can take on the most formidable beasts.
Thomas Andre Is The Strongest National Level Hunter
Thomas Andre Is In A League Of His Own
In the world of Solo Leveling, National Level Hunters represent the peak of combat ability. Currently, only four hunters have earned this official designation. They are:
- Thomas Andre
 - Liu Zhigang
 - Christopher Reed
 - Siddharth Bachchan

I’ve been following the Hunter rankings, and they go from one to four based on accumulated Hunter points. Right now, Thomas Andre is number one, making him the most powerful National Level Hunter we know of. Like all National Level Hunters, he received his abilities from the Rulers, and those powers have clearly been essential to his success. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine Thomas Andre, or any of the other top Hunters, achieving what they have without the Rulers’ influence.
None of them stood a chance against Kamish, who was widely seen as humanity’s biggest threat. They also couldn’t handle the most dangerous portals, known as S-rank gates, by themselves. Readers of the original story know just how powerful these gates are – regular S-rank Hunters can’t defeat them, but National Level Hunters, with the help of the Rulers, can.
Thomas Andre is widely considered the strongest Hunter at the national level. Even without considering his ranking points, his accomplishments are remarkable. He fought Sung Jinwoo to a standstill, and this was after Jinwoo had already gained significant power from Ashborn’s black heart. Andre also held his own in a battle against one of the Monarchs. Given these feats, it’s no wonder he consistently ranks number one.
Sung Jinwoo Could Have Become A National Level Hunter
Jinwoo Doesn’t Care Much About Titles
By the story’s climax, Sung Jinwoo had become stronger than all nationally ranked Hunters, even defeating Thomas Andre decisively. However, despite his incredible power, he wasn’t officially recognized as a National Level Hunter. This wasn’t due to any failing on his part, but rather the unstable global situation. With a war looming between the powerful Monarchs and Rulers, and constant new dangers emerging, people were too preoccupied to focus on things like updating the Hunter rankings.
For Sung Jinwoo, titles aren’t very important, especially considering he’s likely the strongest person alive. He’s incredibly powerful thanks to the abilities he gained as the Shadow Monarch, and his potential for growth seems limitless. With a huge reserve of magical energy, he commands a massive Shadow Army. These shadows are so strong that many can easily defeat even the most elite Hunters. Because of this, Jinwoo rarely needs to fight himself, as his shadows can handle most threats.
Even with incredible power, Sung Jinwoo remained humble and continued to help others and defend the world from danger. What truly sets him apart is his devotion to his family. He’s always been fiercely protective of them, and will stop at nothing – even threatening the entire world – if they’re threatened. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Solo Leveling season three to see more of his heroic actions.
