Some older Xbox 360 games that were removed from the Microsoft Store are now showing up with a “Coming Soon” tag in certain areas. It’s not clear why this is happening, but fans are speculating about the reason.

As a huge Xbox 360 fan, I remember just how many amazing games were available – over 2000! It’s awesome that over 600 of them still work on my Xbox One and Series X thanks to backwards compatibility. But it’s also really frustrating because so many others have been taken off the digital store, meaning it’s getting harder and harder to play some of my old favorites. It feels like they’re disappearing over time, and that’s a real shame.
Delisted Xbox 360 Games Are “Coming Soon” In Some Regions
On November 2nd, a user named @JBishie shared a screenshot from the Portuguese Microsoft Store. It showed 17 Xbox 360 games and one original Xbox game, all marked with the tag “Em Breve,” which means “Coming Soon.” This suggests these older titles will be added to the Microsoft Store soon.
A few games are still available on the US Microsoft Store, like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Lost Planet, Deadly Premonition, and Catherine. However, most have been removed from digital stores and can no longer be bought. For titles such as Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 and Batman: Arkham Origins, players who still have the original game discs can play them on newer Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, if you don’t own the physical copies, there’s no way to buy or play these games digitally.
We’re not sure why some games are showing as “Coming Soon” in certain areas. Some people think it’s just a technical error, possibly related to the closing of the Xbox 360 store in July 2024. However, others are optimistic that this means the games will be available to buy digitally again soon – or, for Batman: Arkham Origins, become available digitally for the first time.
November 22, 2025, will mark the 25th anniversary of the Xbox 360. While it’s a long shot, there’s a chance Microsoft might celebrate by bringing back some previously removed Xbox 360 games, perhaps by adding them to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library.
