In the game Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library, you can find four hidden keys. Each key opens a chest containing a permanent upgrade, allowing you to run faster, jump higher, and carry more books.
I’ve put together a guide to help you find absolutely everything in Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! It walks you through locating all the keys, unlocking every bit of minor magic, and even getting that tricky Life Hack Wizard achievement. I’m hoping it helps other players like me get 100% completion!
All Key Locations and Rewards

Crimson Octagon Key Location
You can find the red key, called the Crimson Octagon Key, under the University of Celesthall sign at the base of the stairs going up to the second floor.
This key opens a chest in area 2A, revealing the High Jump Permit. With this permit, you can high jump by pressing Space on the keyboard, X on PlayStation, or A on Xbox. This allows you to quickly jump between the first and second floors, and across the gap on the second floor, making it much easier to find all the books you need.
Emerald Club Key Location
The green key for the Emerald Club is hidden under some books on the bench next to the table in section 1D. Simply move the books to find it.
This key unlocks a chest close to area 2A, which contains the Run Permit. With this permit, you can run by holding down the LShift or L3 button, letting you move through the library much faster. This is particularly useful if you’re trying to earn the Efficiency Librarian achievement – completing the game in under three hours.
Golden Diamond Key Location
You’ll find the yellow Golden Diamond Key hidden in a vase at the base of the stairs to section 2A.
This key opens a chest in area 2B, giving you the ability to carry three more books. This means you’ll have more space for books and won’t need to return to base as often.
Azure Star Key Location
The blue Azure Star Key is located on the 2O shelf. You can get to it easily once you’ve unlocked High Jump with the Crimson Octagon Key.
This key unlocks a chest close to area 2B, giving you the ability to carry more items. However, the upgrade only lets you carry two extra books.
Life Hack Wizard Achievement
Collecting all four permanent upgrades unlocks the Life Hack Wizard achievement.
