In the Resident Evil 4 Remake, you can increase the selling price of valuable items by combining gems in specific patterns. There are ten different patterns available: Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet, Two Colors, Three Colors, Two Duos, Four Colors, Duo & Trio, and Five Colors. While simply using gems of different colors was the most effective strategy in the original game, these new patterns in the remake each offer unique bonuses that affect how much the item sells for.
Resident Evil 4’s Treasure Combo Bonuses Explained
In Resident Evil 4, bonuses from gems increase the value of treasure. The amount of the increase ranges from 1.1 to 2 times the gem’s base value. For instance, two blue gems add 8,000 Pesetas to an item’s worth, and with the Dou Combo bonus, that total becomes 9,600 Pesetas.
The following table shows all gemstone combinations and explains their bonuses:
| Gem Combo | Bonus | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Two Colors | ×1.1 | Two gemstones with different colors |
| Dou | ×1.2 | Two gemstones with the same color |
| Three Colors | ×1.3 | Three gemstones of different colors |
| Trio | ×1.4 | Three gemstones of the same color |
| Two Duos | ×1.5 | Two pairs of gemstones of the same color |
| Four Colors | ×1.6 | Four gemstones of different colors |
| Quartet | ×1.7 | Four gemstones of the same color |
| Duo & Trio | ×1.8 | One pair and one trio of gemstones with different colors |
| Quintet | ×1.9 | Five gemstones of the same color |
| Five Colors | ×2.0 | Five gemstones with different colors |
The Best Combinations for Treasures in RE4 Remake
When it comes to getting the most out of bonus treasures in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the best combinations are Five Colors, Quintet, and Duo Trio.
There are three ways to decorate treasures with gems. Five Color challenges you to use five gems, each a different color. Quintet asks you to collect five gems of the same color. And with Duo & Trio, you need to have both a pair and a group of three gems that are all the same color on a single treasure.
So, after a lot of playing around, I’ve figured out what treasure combinations get you the most money in the RE4 Remake. Here’s what I’ve discovered!
#1. Elegant Crown (Duo & Trio)
- Best Treasure Combo: 2 Yellow Gems, 3 Red Beryls
- Sales price: 108,000 Ptas
- Where to Find: Depths (Chapter 10), Wharf (Chapter 13)
To get the highest price for the Elegant Crown, use two yellow gems and three red beryls when inlaying it. This will raise its value to 108,000 Ptas, making it the most expensive item in the game. Successfully selling an Elegant Crown with this combination also unlocks the Astute Appraiser achievement in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The Quintet pattern also works well for the Elegant Crown. Using five gems of different colors increases its value to 100,000, but I find combining the Duo and Trio patterns more appealing.

#2. Ornate Necklace (Quartet)
- Best Treasure Combo: 2 Red Beryls, 2 Red Gems
- Sales Price: 59,500 Ptas
- Where to Find: Castle Battlements (Chapter 8), Waste Disposal (Chapter 14)
To get the most money for the Ornate Necklace, players should enhance it with a Quartet combination. Specifically, decorating it with all-red gemstones will raise its selling price to 59,500, making it one of the most valuable items in the game.
#3. Chalice of Atonement (Trio)
- Best Treasure Combo: 3 Red Beryls
- Sales Price: 47,600 Ptas
- Where to Find: The Bridge North of Villa (Chapter 6), Buy from the Merchant
Adding three red beryls to the Chalice of Atonement increases its selling price to 47,600 Ptas. Interestingly, players can actually buy the chalice from the Merchant in Resident Evil 4 Remake for just 3 Spinels, making it a potentially valuable find.
#4. Elegant Mask (Trio)
- Best Treasure Combo: 3 Yellow Gems
- Sales Price: 36,400 Ptas
- Where to Find: Abandoned Factory (Chapter 2)
The Elegant Mask looks best decorated with three gemstones of the same color. If you use all-yellow gems, the mask’s price will go up to 36,400 Ptas.
#5. Butterfly Lamp (Trio)
- Best Treasure Combo: 3 Blue Gems
- Sales Price: 25,200 Ptas
- Where to Find: Quarry (Chapter 3)
The Butterfly Lamp, despite its simple appearance, is quite valuable – worth 25,200 Ptas with its three blue gems. While adding three yellow gems would increase its value, I suggest saving those for even more valuable items, such as the Elegant Crown.
#6. Golden Lynx (Trio)
- Best Treasure Combo: 2 Red Gems, 1 Red Beryl
- Sales Price: 40,000 Ptas
- Where to Find: Library (Chapter 10)
Getting a Golden Lynx is challenging, but worth it! Once you have one, increase its value by adding two Red Gems and one Red Beryl. This combination of gems fits perfectly – the statue has two round slots and one square slot. Using gems of the same color will boost the statue’s price to 40,000 Pesetas.
You could also create this treasure using a combination of yellow diamond, sapphire, and emerald – a three-color approach. Its value increase will be similar to the Trio combination, so the best choice depends on which gems you already have.
#7. Flagon (Duo)
- Best Treasure Combo: Flagon, two Yellow Gems
- Sales Price: 21,600 Ptas
- Where to Find: Farm Windmill (Chapter 1)
For the best results with a Flagon, use the Duo gem combination. Putting two gems of the same color on it gives you the biggest boost – a 1.2x multiplier. Considering the Flagon starts at 4,000 Pesetas, you could sell it for as much as 21,600 Pesetas if you use two Yellow Diamonds.
It’s not worth using your best gems on Flagon. Because the item isn’t very expensive to begin with, it’s better to upgrade it with cheaper, more common gems like rubies.
#8. Splendid Bangle (Dou)
- Best Treasure Combo: 2 Red Beryls
- Sales Price: 21,600 Ptas
- Where to Find: Lake (Chapter 5)
Combining two Red Beryl gems with a Splendid Bangle increases the bangle’s value by 21,600 Pesetas, raising its total worth to 25,600 from a starting price of 4,000. Although this profit might not seem huge, you can find multiple Splendid Bangles throughout the game, making this a repeatable way to earn money.
If you want to maximize the value of your rare Beryl, it’s best to choose a simple two-color design. This will increase its value by 20%, giving you a good profit. This is especially helpful when you’re first starting out and don’t have many chances to find valuable treasures.
Best Way to Invest Your Gemstones in Treasures
Gemstones are somewhat rare in the Resident Evil 4 Remake campaign, though some are more common than others. Red Gems are relatively easy to find, making them a good choice for improving the value of typical items. However, it’s best to save rarer gems like Yellow Diamonds – they’ll give you a much bigger boost to the value of your best treasures later in the game.
How to Find the Best Combination for Treasures
To find the most valuable combinations, figure out the final price before combining or experiment with different patterns from the pause menu. Calculating treasure combinations is easy: add up the prices of the gemstones, multiply that total by the gemstone bonus rate in RE4 Remake, and then add the result to the item’s original price.
Let’s say an item costs 10,000 Petas to start. If you add two Yellow Gems, the selling price becomes 26,800 Petas. Here’s how that’s calculated: the gems add 14,000 Petas to the value. Because you used two gems of the same color, you also get a 20% bonus on the gem value, increasing it to 16,800 Petas. When you add that to the original price of 10,000 Petas, the final selling price is 26,800 Petas.
| Gemstone | Added Value (Ptas.) |
|---|---|
| Red gem | 3,000 |
| Blue gem | 4,000 |
| Yellow gem | 7,000 |
| Green beryl | 5,000 |
| Purple beryl | 6,000 |
| Red beryl | 9,000 |
