A new video gives fans a peek behind the scenes of Pokemon Winds and Waves, showing how the game’s music was recorded. Pokemon Winds and Waves is the latest installment β the 10th generation β in the popular Pokemon series, continuing the story from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These games are also special because they’re the first main Pokemon titles designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2, meaning players will need to upgrade to the new console to experience them.
Music has always been a key part of the Pokemon series, and over the past thirty years, the creators have worked with many talented composers. The ninth generation of Pokemon games included familiar names like Junichi Masuda and Go Ichinose, as well as some new additions. Notably, Ed Sheeran wrote a song for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, also contributed to the music.
A New Behind-the-Scenes Video for Pokemon Winds and Waves
Although Pokemon Winds and Waves won’t be released until 2027, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have shared a new behind-the-scenes video. It focuses on the recording of the game’s main theme by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. The video combines footage of the orchestra performing with scenes from the game’s February trailer.

The main theme for Pokemon Winds and Waves feels both familiar and fresh. Like most Pokemon game themes, it focuses on the excitement of exploration and adventure, giving players a good idea of what to expect in the new games. The music builds to a powerful and enjoyable climax, and early reactions online have been very positive.
I’m so excited! The starting Pokemon for the new Pokemon Winds and Waves games are out β it’s Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua! We didn’t get to see much else of the game yet, but those three did show up quickly in a new video. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of them over the next few years. We still don’t know how many new Pokemon will be in Winds and Waves, which is killing me! Scarlet and Violet, with all its DLC, brought the total Pokemon count to 1,025, and I’m pretty sure that number is going to go over 1,100 when Winds and Waves comes out next year.

We still don’t have a firm release date for Pokemon Winds and Waves, but traditionally, new Pokemon games come out around the holidays. If that holds true, fans have over a year to wait. This also suggests that updates about the game will likely be spaced out. With little official news, speculation is already running wild, and fans are so excited they’ve even created designs for alternate versions of the starting Pokemon! This new behind-the-scenes video is a great way to keep fans engaged without giving away too much information, and hopefully, we’ll see many more similar videos in the coming months.
