The students in Class 1-A were central to the story of My Hero Academia, and they all went on to become professional heroes after graduating from U.A. High School. Eight years later, most of them are now ranked on Japan’s Hero Billboard Chart, with the majority appearing in the top 50, and a select few reaching the top ten.
Hero rankings aren’t based on strength alone; they also consider a Hero’s popularity, how often they handle emergencies, and their positive impact on the community. While some students rank higher than others, everyone in the program is a capable Hero. The students of Class 1-A have worked incredibly hard, and their efforts have significantly reduced villainous activity.
17. Minoru Mineta
- Pro Hero Name: Fresh-Picked Hero: Grape Juice
Minoru’s small size, unusual personality, and tendency to panic under pressure made it difficult to picture him becoming a successful Pro Hero. His Quirk, Pop Off, which creates detachable, sticky balls on his head, seemed quite weak. However, Pop Off is the type of seemingly weak Quirk that could become incredibly powerful if it awakened, as it has the potential to effectively restrain opponents.
Minoru defied expectations and graduated alongside his classmates in Class 1-A following the intense Final War. He then began his hero career as a sidekick to Mt. Lady – a fitting choice, considering her popularity. Now, he leads his own agency and is ranked as Japan’s 108th top Hero.
16. Denki Kaminari
- Pro Hero Name: Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt
When Denki started training to become a Pro Hero at U.A. High, he had trouble controlling his Electrification Quirk. He couldn’t direct the electricity he stored in his body, making it difficult to use effectively. He overcame this with special support gear called Sharpshooter, which allows him to target electricity at a single person or multiple people. However, using too much electricity still causes his brain to overload.
Denki wasn’t known for being quick-witted, and he tended to panic under pressure. This often caused him to unintentionally use his electricity instead of carefully considering his options. However, he learned to control this during the Paranormal Liberation War, bravely stepping forward to cancel out a villain’s electrical powers. Now a capable and independent Hero, Denki has climbed to the No. 44 rank and often works alongside Kyoka.

15. Toru Hagakure
- Pro Hero Name: Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl
Throughout most of My Hero Academia, Toru’s appearance remained a mystery because her Invisibility Quirk made her completely unseen – she appeared as just a pair of gloves and boots. Despite this, her bright and energetic personality makes her a standout female character in the series. She had a key moment in the Final War, successfully defeating Kunieda with assistance from Yuga.
After graduating, Toru became a professional hero and later took on Yuga as her sidekick once he also became a pro hero. They’ve gained a lot of fans for their dazzling displays of Quirks. Toru is now appearing more publicly, which has led to her becoming the face of several makeup brands. All this recognition has made her Japan’s 39th-ranked hero.
14. Hanta Sero
- Pro Hero Name: Taping Hero: Cellophane
Hanta was a friendly and outgoing student in Class 1-A, often trying to get attention from his classmates. He was very relaxed and self-assured. Even when facing almost certain failure, he always gave his best effort. He also enjoyed playfully teasing his friends.
Hanta’s Quirk gives him special organs in his elbows that function like tape dispensers. This allows him to shoot out adhesive tape, which he uses to capture things, create traps, and restrain opponents. He can also use the tape to swing across long distances. Since becoming a professional Hero after graduation, Hanta has gained popularity and is currently ranked 36th.
13. Tsuyu Asui
- Pro Hero Name: Rainy Season Hero: Froppy
Tsuyu is remarkably calm and collected, even when things get really stressful. She’s very honest, sometimes bluntly so, but she deeply cares about her friends and classmates. Her Quirk gives her abilities similar to a frog, like sticking to walls, blending in with her surroundings, leaping great distances, and extending her incredibly long tongue. She uses her tongue both to fight and to save people in danger.
While Tsuyu isn’t the most powerful student in Class 1-A, she’s a capable fighter and a dedicated Hero. After graduating, she worked as a Sidekick for a while before becoming independent and starting her own agency close to her family. She still stays involved with U.A. High by occasionally giving guest lectures, and she regularly visits elementary schools with Ochaco to help children understand their Quirks. Thanks to all her efforts, Tsuyu has earned the rank of No. 34 Hero.
12. Mashirao Ojiro
- Pro Hero Name: Martial Arts Hero: Tailman
I always felt bad that Mashirao didn’t get much attention in the series – he really reminded me of Rock Lee from Naruto, focusing purely on hard work. He wasn’t flashy like a lot of the other students, seeming pretty unassuming, but that didn’t stop him! He’s actually become the No. 32 Pro Hero in Japan, which is amazing considering he has what many would consider one of the least powerful Quirks in the whole show.
Mashirao’s Quirk gives him a strong, long tail that acts like an extra arm or leg in fights. He’s a naturally talented martial artist, so he’s capable in one-on-one combat. Beyond being a hero, Mashirao hopes to one day open a dojo and teach self-defense to others.
11. Kyoka Jiro
- Pro Hero Name: Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack
Kyoka often seems aloof and uncaring, but she’s actually quite sensitive. This might be surprising, considering she liked to playfully tease her classmates, particularly Denki. As the most musically gifted student in Class 1-A, it’s no surprise she pursued music as a career after graduation, and she even gives Eri guitar lessons.
After becoming an independent Pro Hero and ranking as Japan’s number 30, Kyoka set up her office next to Denki’s, sparking rumors of a romantic relationship. She lost her left ear during the battle with All For One – considered the most powerful villain in the Final War Arc – but now uses a prosthetic ear that fully restores her Earphone Jack Quirk.
10. Mina Ashido
- Pro Hero Name: Ridley Hero: Pinky
Mina has a unique appearance that some might compare to an alien, but she’s actually a human. Her pink skin is due to a special ability called an Acid Quirk, which allows her body to create a powerful, corrosive liquid. She can control how strong the acid is, making it safe for others, but at its full power, it’s incredibly destructive – capable of melting metal and even harming extremely tough creatures like Gigantomachia.
Mina’s upbeat and lively personality makes her a natural fit for connecting with kids and teens. She also stays popular by performing at big dance events when she has free time. This widespread appeal has helped her become a highly-ranked Pro Hero, currently at No. 28.
9. Ochaco Uraraka
- Pro Hero Name: Antigravity Hero: Uravity
Ochaco is a very popular character in My Hero Academia, and for good reason – she’s a central female lead and has a romantic connection with Izuku. Her unique ability, called Zero Gravity, lets her make objects weightless, making her one of the best gravity-based characters in anime. Ochaco is constantly motivated by those around her, and she even possesses the rare ability to understand the perspectives of Villains.
Ochaco greatly admires Thirteen, which is why she’s particularly drawn to rescue operations, though she’s still capable of fighting when necessary. Outside of her hero work, Ochaco runs a program offering free support to students struggling with their Quirks, aiming to prevent them from turning to villainy. This program has been incredibly successful, significantly reducing the number of new villains and becoming a landmark initiative. As a result of all her efforts, Ochaco is currently ranked as the 24th highest hero.
8. Momo Yaoyorozu
- Pro Hero Name: Everything Hero: Creati
Momo served as the vice president of Class 1-A and, like Shoto, was admitted to U.A. High School based on a special recommendation. Although she’s incredibly intelligent and possesses a powerful Quirk that can create anything from thin air, Momo initially struggled with self-doubt during her hero training. Ultimately, she overcame these insecurities and rose to become the 19th-ranked Pro Hero in Japan.
Momo’s Quirk, Creation, allows her to make solid objects from her body fat. She famously created a sedative that stopped Gigantomachia during the battle against the Paranormal Liberation Front. Now, Momo uses her abilities for worldwide research and also assists Ochaco with her support program for people with Quirks.
