In the Dragon Ball universe, the Saiyans are known as the most powerful warriors. Goku demonstrates that even those born with the least potential can become incredibly strong – powerful enough to challenge and even surpass the strongest Saiyans, ultimately achieving god-like power. Their ability to grow stronger after recovering from serious injuries, combined with transformations like Super Saiyan, means every Saiyan has the potential to become one of the most powerful fighters in existence.
Even the least powerful Saiyans in Dragon Ball Super are incredibly strong compared to most characters. The strongest Saiyans aren’t just powerful for their race—they rank among the most powerful characters in the entire Dragon Ball universe. Across both Universe 6 and Universe 7, the Saiyans of Dragon Ball Super stand in a class of their own, and they’re expected to become even more powerful when Toyotarou’s manga continues with the Black Frieza Saga.
10. Caulifla Has More Potential Than Anyone in Universe 6
I’m a huge fan of Caulifla! To me, she’s basically Universe 6’s answer to Goku, but honestly, I think she might even have more natural talent, and she achieved it all at a younger age! It’s incredible – she figured out how to go Super Saiyan just by experimenting, which is amazing. And during the Tournament of Power, it was so cool to see Goku actually teaching her how to push beyond her limits and unlock even greater power!
Goku spent months achieving Super Saiyan Grade 2 and years to become a Super Saiyan 2, but Caulifla reached both levels in just minutes. Caulifla’s Super Saiyan 2 form is powerful enough that Goku needs to use Super Saiyan God when fighting her and Kale together. If she trains enough, Caulifla might even be able to force her way into achieving God-level transformations.
9. Goku Black Can Abuse Zenkai Boosts to Make Himself Stronger
I saw this incredible thing happen – there was a version of Goku who came from another timeline. Apparently, a being named Zamasu used the Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with him. It was really strange because, after Zamasu took over Goku’s body, it somehow reset Goku’s natural fighting ability. This actually worked to Zamasu’s advantage, because he could then get even stronger by pushing himself in battle – a technique called a Zenkai boost.
Even before gaining new powers, Goku Black was strong enough to force Goku to use Super Saiyan 2. Once he mastered his own Super Saiyan form – Super Saiyan Rosé – he became more powerful than Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue states. Goku Black devastated Future Trunks’ timeline, and his immense power is a key reason why Fused Zamasu was such a formidable opponent.
8. Kale Eliminated More Universes Than Anyone Else in the Manga’s Tournament of Power
Kale is a remarkably powerful fighter from Universe 6, becoming a Legendary Super Saiyan with incredible strength. During the Tournament of Power in the anime, she was able to battle evenly with Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form. Ultimately, only Jiren possessed the power to defeat her when she transformed into a Legendary Super Saiyan.
Kale is an even bigger threat in the Dragon Ball Super manga. During the Tournament of Power, she destroys more universes than any other fighter. The manga doesn’t show her being defeated directly; instead, Cabba makes a sacrifice to help Caulifla and Kale combine into Kefla, which is what finally stops her.
7. Kefla’s Power Forced Goku to Awaken Ultra Instinct
Kefla, created when Kale and Caulifla fuse using Potara earrings, is the most powerful fighter in Universe 6. Their strong connection gives them an extra boost in power when they combine. While the manga shows Kefla at the same level as Ultimate Gohan, the anime portrays her as a truly formidable opponent.
In the anime, Kefla can transform into a Legendary Super Saiyan 2. She nearly defeated Goku, but his sudden activation of Ultra Instinct Sign saved him. Aside from Jiren, Kefla was powerful enough to win the entire Tournament of Power if Goku hadn’t defeated her using Ultra Instinct.
6. Goku is One of the Most Powerful Saiyans in the Multiverse
For quite a while now, Goku hasn’t been the most powerful fighter in Universe 7, and with the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, he’s no longer even the strongest Saiyan. However, Goku is perfectly happy with this. He’s most motivated to improve when he knows there are others who are stronger than him.
Goku consistently pushes past his limits whenever he encounters a stronger opponent. He famously mastered Ultra Instinct during a crucial tournament and quickly learned to control its Angelic form—all within about thirty minutes. Now, he can access Perfected Ultra Instinct at will and is constantly training, preparing for a future battle with Black Frieza.
5. Vegeta Has Officially Surpassed Goku
For Vegeta, Dragon Ball Super has been a major turning point, arguably even more significant than meeting Bulma. Beginning with the Resurrection F arc, Vegeta started to match Goku’s power level, and they’ve been evenly matched ever since. While Goku initially seemed to pull ahead with his Ultra Instinct transformation, Vegeta quickly closed the gap by unlocking Ultra Ego during the Granolah the Survivor Saga.
At the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Vegeta’s intense training pays off, making his normal form a little stronger than Goku’s. He even defeats Goku in a one-on-one fight, proving he’s currently the more skilled warrior. While Goku will likely become stronger again eventually, Vegeta is the strongest Saiyan for the time being.
4. Broly’s Full Power is Maximum
Broly is incredibly powerful, even without any formal training. He’s strong enough to push Goku and Vegeta to use their most powerful God forms just to contend with him. His regular Super Saiyan form matches the power of their Super Saiyan Blue, and when he transforms into his Legendary Super Saiyan state, he surpasses both of them. Ultimately, only Gogeta at full power has the strength to defeat him.
Broly is training with Goku and Vegeta on Beerus’ Planet, working to reach his full potential while staying in control. Recent developments in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103 show he’s getting closer than ever. The manga’s colored version depicts Broly with green hair during his fight with Gohan Beast, hinting that he’s about to fully master his Legendary Super Saiyan power.
3. Gohan is the Strongest Unfused Saiyan Right Now
For much of Dragon Ball Super, Gohan struggled to reach his full potential, but that changed when he achieved his powerful Beast form in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Piccolo explained that even Goku and Vegeta wouldn’t have been able to defeat Cell Max, but Gohan, in his Beast form, destroyed him with a Special Beam Cannon. The Dragon Ball Super manga then shows Gohan battling all the other Saiyans.
In a recent battle, Gohan Beast defeated Goku, even forcing him out of his Perfected Ultra Instinct form with a powerful blow. He then easily overpowered Super Saiyan Broly in a practice match, barely exerting any effort. The latest chapter of Dragon Ball Super also suggests Gohan emerged victorious in a five-way fight against Goku, Vegeta, Goten, and Trunks.
2. Vegito is the Ultimate Potara Fusion
Vegito, created when Goku and Vegeta fuse using the Potara earrings, is the most powerful fusion in the series. Similar to Kefla, Vegito’s strength comes from the intense competition between Goku and Vegeta. He’s so powerful that the earrings can’t fully handle his energy, quickly reducing the fusion’s usual one-hour duration to just a few minutes.
Vegito’s biggest weakness in Dragon Ball Super is the limited time he can stay fused. When at full power as a Super Saiyan Blue, he easily overpowered Fused Zamasu, even frightening the immortal being. If Vegito didn’t have a time limit, he’d likely be the strongest Saiyan of all.
1. Gogeta is the Most Powerful Saiyan of All Time
When Goku and Vegeta fuse using the Fusion Dance, the resulting warrior, Gogeta, is more powerful than Vegito in every way. Both fusions benefit from the combined strength of Goku and Vegeta, but Gogeta doesn’t have the same time limit as Vegito. Even when using his strongest forms like Super Saiyan Blue, Gogeta’s power doesn’t fade after thirty minutes.
Gogeta Blue is incredibly powerful, capable of warping the very structure of the universe. Many believe he could even defeat Beerus in a fight. He’s considered the strongest Saiyan, the most powerful Fusion, and potentially the strongest character in Dragon Ball, excluding Angels and Zeno.
