Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Reveals Game-Changing Immersion Feature

Ubisoft announced that players of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will have a new way to experience the game’s world: a feature that hides all on-screen menus and displays for a more immersive view. This option can be quickly turned on and off with a single button press at any point during gameplay.

So, they’re basically rebuilding Assassin’s Creed Black Flag from the ground up! It’s called Black Flag Resynced, and the graphics are getting a huge overhaul thanks to the new Ubisoft Anvil engine. They’re adding things like realistic weather and ray tracing, which should make the Caribbean look incredible. The best part? It doesn’t seem like you’ll need a super powerful PC to run it. My older rig should be able to handle it when it launches on July 9th, and that’s awesome!

You Can Hide the UI In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

The upcoming update to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will add new features like smarter enemies, as well as a way to make the game more immersive. Ubisoft showed off a new feature that lets players hide the game’s interface (UI) with the press of a button – specifically, the R3 or Right Stick button on a controller. When activated, almost the entire UI disappears. Currently, a small prompt for the R3 button briefly appears when the UI is brought back, but it’s possible this will be removed before the game officially launches on July 9th, as the footage shown was from an early version of the game. The UI toggle feature is still being refined.

The recent gameplay demo showed the user interface can be hidden while exploring towns or during parkour sections in Black Flag Resynced. While this creates a more immersive experience, it also means players won’t be able to easily see if enemies have spotted them, so caution is recommended when disabling the UI in enemy areas. The game also includes a new photo mode, and hiding the UI can make taking screenshots easier for players who prefer a cleaner view.

After announcing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft confirmed it will run on the same game engine as Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This means Black Flag Resynced will benefit from advanced features like DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and more realistic, destructible environments. According to game director Richard Knight in a Reddit Q&A, the updated Ubisoft Anvil engine powering Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also the foundation for Black Flag Resynced.
