Pearl Abyss has released a new update for Crimson Desert, building on the game’s recent improvements and adding more content. Since its launch in March, Crimson Desert has gained a dedicated player base thanks to Pearl Abyss actively addressing player feedback, introducing new features, and consistently enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Pearl Abyss has deliberately avoided releasing a traditional roadmap for future updates. Instead of planning content based on predictions, they’re taking a different approach with Crimson Desert. They’re focusing on what players actually want by closely monitoring feedback and gameplay. This allows them to quickly release updates and fixes that the community loves, and ultimately improve the game based on how people are playing it. They’re responding to player needs rather than sticking to a rigid schedule or guessing what players will enjoy.
The newest update for Crimson Desert builds on recent improvements, and the patch notes are now available. The biggest change in the May 15 update expands the Rematch feature, which lets players fight bosses they’ve already beaten. You can choose to fight the boss as it originally was, or use the Resonate option to increase its difficulty to match your current level. A great perk is that any items you use during a rematch will be returned to you afterward, so you can experiment without losing resources.
With this update, Pearl Abyss has made the Rematch feature even more useful. Now, you can challenge a wider variety of bosses with Rematch, including some that used to be found in the Abyss. These Abyss bosses have been modified so that Rematch battles take place on solid ground. You can find the locations for each boss available for Rematch by using Boss Memory Fragments in your Journal.

Beyond the changes to Kliff, the update also enhances the gameplay for Oongka and Damiane in Crimson Desert. Players felt switching away from Kliff wasn’t as satisfying because Oongka and Damiane had fewer skills, particularly strong ones. Pearl Abyss responded to this feedback by adding more options for both characters. Damiane now has new unarmed combat skills, and both she and Oongka can perform an aerial stab attack. Kliff also gains a new finishing move, Blinding Flash, when fighting unarmed.
The recent updates to Crimson Desert have been well-received, but players are eager for more significant content. Good news: Pearl Abyss is currently developing downloadable content (DLC) for the game. They’ll share specifics as soon as their plans are finalized. Given Pearl Abyss’s quick development pace, fans likely won’t have to wait long to learn more.
