How to Start the Weather Watch Side Quest in NTE

The “Rainy Night Tale” side quest, which eventually becomes “Weather Watch,” is one of the stranger experiences players can have in NTE. You can only start it when it’s raining in the game. Look for the characters who give out the quest in the residential areas between Coastal Highway and White Parrot Street in the Bridge Crossings district. Finding them is the hardest part! Once you’ve started the quest in NTE, it’s actually quite easy to finish.

How to Start the Rainy Night Tale/Weather Watch Quest in NTE

To start this, you need it to be raining in your game. You can make it rain by pausing the game and going to the Time System option (it’s in the second row of the menu). In the new window, select the ‘Rainy’ weather option at the bottom. This will move the game time forward by 30 minutes, and when you close the menus, it will start raining.

After setting up the scene, you should see a quest marker for ‘Rainy Night Tale’ appear on your map. Follow the marker to the location, and you’ll find two students discussing their fear of the Rainman, as they’re unprepared for the weather without an umbrella.

NTE: Weather Watch Quest Line Objectives

  1. Eavesdrop on the students’ conversation.
  2. Take shelter from the rain.
  3. Talk to Fir.
  4. Comfort the Worried Student.
  5. Leave the Laundromat.
  6. Find the Missing Student.
  7. Follow the JTF Member (Bixing).
  8. Nullify the Rainmen.
  9. Wait for the Student to leave.
  10. Wait until the next evening (between 6:00-8:00PM)
  11. Go to the district where Rainmen appear.
  12. Check what Bixing is up to.
  13. Talk to Bixing.
  14. Ask the Nearby Residents.
  15. Go to the Damp House.
  16. Inspect the wall.
  17. Ask the Nearby Residents.
  18. Follow Bixing.
  19. Go to the Abandoned Warehouse.
  20. Examine the Warehouse Gate.
  21. Find Another Entrance.
  22. Examine the Second Floor Door.
  23. Investigate the Abandoned Warehouse.
  24. Nullify Rainmen.

We won’t go into a lot of detail about these goals, as the game mostly guides you through them with the quest marker. Just follow the on-screen instructions, and you’ll quickly finish the Rainy Night Tales/Weather Watch quest in NTE. If you read all the dialogue, it should take about 10 minutes.

Rainy Night Tales is a fairly easy side quest, so you don’t need a super strong team to complete it. Any team composition will work as long as your characters are at a good level and have some basic equipment like Cartridges and Modules. You’ll encounter some battles, so be prepared for that!

Talk to Bixing

Just so you know, once you start checking on Bixing in NTE, you’ll have to wait for her current conversation with another character to finish before you can continue with the quest. After that dialogue ends, you’ll be able to move forward as usual.

Find Another Entrance

Once you’ve followed Bixing through the neighborhood, you’ll arrive at an old, abandoned warehouse. To continue the quest, you simply need to find another way in – head up to the balcony and go to the door.
