Jujutsu Kaisen: Every Form Of Sukuna, Ranked From Weakest To Strongest

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, very few characters possess the power to truly rival Sukuna. Known as ‘The King of Curses’ for being exceptionally strong, Sukuna is considered the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer ever, with skills and knowledge that no one can match.

Watching Jujutsu Kaisen, I noticed Sukuna changed forms a few times, though the series didn’t always present these as clear transformations. I’ve been thinking about all the different states he’s fought in, and I wanted to break them down to figure out when he was at his absolute strongest.

6. 1-Finger Sukuna Easily Destroyed A Powerful Curse

Arc: Fearsome Womb Arc

Like all good shows, Jujutsu Kaisen immediately grabbed viewers’ attention with its first arc, “Fearsome Womb.” While the episode introduced key characters like Yuji, Megumi, and Gojo, the most memorable moment was when Sukuna first appeared, triggered by Yuji consuming one of his fingers.

Even at just 5% of his full power, Sukuna was incredibly strong. He effortlessly defeated a Grade 2 Cursed Spirit with a single blow. His quick fight with Gojo demonstrated his immense speed and strength, causing significant destruction to the surrounding buildings.

5. 2-Finger Sukuna Toyed With A Finger Bearer

Arc: Fearsome Womb Arc

After Yuji joins Jujutsu High, he, Nobara, and Megumi are assigned to investigate a Cursed Spirit at a juvenile detention center. They quickly discover the threat is actually a powerful Finger Bearer. Facing defeat, Yuji is forced to summon Sukuna, who has now grown stronger after absorbing another finger.

Honestly, even with just a few fingers, Sukuna is unbelievably strong! He completely wiped the floor with a Special Grade Cursed Spirit, finishing it off with an amazing Domain Expansion. And then, get this, he actually took another finger from the defeated spirit and immediately started battling Megumi with it! It’s just… insane how powerful he is.

4. 15-Finger Sukuna Was Already Stronger Than Everyone Besides Gojo

Arc: Shibuya Incident Arc

During the Shibuya Incident, the King of Curses became significantly more powerful. Nanako, Mimiko, and Jogo fed him twelve of Yuji’s fingers simultaneously, boosting his power to 75% of his full potential with fifteen fingers total. This made him the strongest character in the series after Gojo.

Sukuna was incredibly powerful, easily defeating both Jogo, a particularly dangerous curse, and the famed Mahoraga. While Yuji Itadori would eventually regain control, the events of the Shibuya Incident clearly demonstrated why Sukuna is considered the strongest sorcerer ever.

3. Heian Era Sukuna Was A Monster Of Myth

The Strongest In History

Before the events of the series, Japan’s Heian Era was a particularly dangerous time. A lot of cursed energy existed, and incredibly strong cursed spirits were common. This meant sorcerers had to be exceptionally skilled just to survive.

Sukuna truly came into his own during this period, beginning as a human sorcerer before evolving into the most powerful Curse ever known. While details about his time in the Heian Era are scarce, it’s clear his power was unmatched. People didn’t see him as a typical sorcerer, but rather as a terrifying force – a demon, a god, or even a natural disaster walking among them.

2. Sukuna Reached New Heights Through Megumi’s Vessel

Arc: Culling Game Arc

The Culling Game arc featured some of the most impactful revelations in Jujutsu Kaisen, but Sukuna possessing Megumi’s body to prepare for his battle with Gojo was a particularly shocking twist. While the Ten Shadows Technique was known to be incredibly powerful, Megumi himself hadn’t fully demonstrated its potential.

Once Sukuna fully controlled the technique, its power increased dramatically thanks to his immense cursed energy and skill. With this control, he summoned Mahoraga and, crucially, used its ability to adapt to overcome Gojo’s Infinity – proving this was the only way to do so.

1. Sukuna’s Endgame True Form Was the Strongest Sorcerer

Arc: Shinjuku Showdown

By the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen series, Ryomen Sukuna was clearly the most powerful character. While some fans think his strongest form was with the Ten Shadows technique, Sukuna’s true power came from his original form, which was designed for maximum efficiency and strength in jujutsu.

Most importantly, in this form, Sukuna possessed the incredibly powerful World Cutting Slash – widely considered the strongest attack in the series and the only one capable of defeating Gojo by overcoming his Infinity. Taking everything into account, Sukuna was undoubtedly at his absolute strongest at the end of the story, able to face all the heroes on his own.

Jujutsu Kaisen can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
