One-Punch Man to Celebrate 10th Anniversary in Tokyo

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to share that One-Punch Man is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special exhibition in Tokyo this summer! They’re promising exclusive artwork, photo ops, and recreations of iconic moments from the series. And of course, there’ll be tons of exclusive goodies and merch for us fans to grab and show off our love for Saitama and the crew. They’ll be revealing more details soon, and I’m already counting down the days!

I first encountered One-Punch Man as a webcomic back in 2009, but the manga remake really caught my attention when it appeared online in 2012. Here in North America, new chapters are released digitally through Weekly Shonen Jump. The story centers around Saitama, a superhero who’s become so strong he can beat almost anyone with just one punch. It sounds amazing, right? But it’s actually a bit of a problem for him – he’s bored because he’s not getting any real challenge! So, he goes on a quest to find stronger opponents, and along the way, he meets a whole cast of other heroes. As of August 2025, the manga has sold over 34 million copies – it’s become incredibly popular, right up there with other big hits like Chainsaw Man and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

One-Punch Man Exhibition Opening in Tokyo This June

Fans of One-Punch Man will have a chance to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary at a special exhibition in Tokyo from June 26th to July 20th, 2026. The event, held at Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbou-Park, will feature exclusive merchandise, original artwork, and autographs. Visitors can also enjoy themed food and drinks like the Saitama Burger and Genos’ Incineration Cannon Soda, each coming with a surprise gift. There will even be photo opportunities where you can insert yourself into iconic scenes from the series. Tickets go on sale May 21st on ASOVIEW, and will be discounted by ¥200 for the first six days as a nod to a memorable moment from Season 1, Episode 3.

The first season of the One-Punch Man anime is often considered one of the best shows of the 2010s. It was animated by Madhouse, the studio behind popular series like Frieren and Overlord, and directed by Shingo Natsume, who also worked on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Space Dandy. While the second season received a mixed response, the third season was widely disliked, with many calling it the worst anime of 2025. Fans were disappointed with the season’s art style, animation quality, and direction.

Back in early 2020, Columbia Pictures announced they were making a live-action movie based on One-Punch Man, with Scott Rosenberg (known for Venom) and Jeff Pinkner (Lost, FROM) writing the screenplay. By 2022, Justin Lin was set to direct, and filming was planned to start later that year. However, recent reports from April 2024 indicate the project has hit some snags, leading to the hiring of Heather Anne Campbell (The Eric Andre Show, Saturday Night Live) and Dan Harmon (Community, Rick and Morty) to revise the script.
