Looking for Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2? You’ll find it in the alien biome east of the hot-water area. It’s much easier to get there with a Tadpole, and we recommend bringing materials to build a small base, including a Scanner Station. The Scanner Station will make collecting Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2 a lot simpler.

Where to Find Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2
Creature Enamel is in the Alien Biome
To get Creature Enamel, you need to use a Sonic Resonator on Enamel Husks. These are blue-green, glob-shaped growths with long, tube-like extensions. You can find them in the alien biome, about 1,400 meters east of your Lifepod. This area is beyond the hot zone – you’ll reach it after going through the trench where the Collector Leviathan lives.
You can reach the alien biome by swimming, but it’s much safer and easier to travel in a Tadpole vehicle. Having a vehicle is especially helpful when dealing with the Collector Leviathan, as it can protect you if it grabs you. Before you go, be sure to repair your Tadpole so it can withstand an attack.
Use the Alien Ruins Waypoint to Find Creature Enamel
Creature Enamel is located on rock formations about 300 meters south of the Alien Ruins, at a depth of 200 meters or more. You’ll unlock the location on your map by entering a keycode in the Tadpole Pens. It’s best to reach that part of the game first if you want to find Creature Enamel without needing to visit any other facilities.
Best Way to Farm Creature Enamel
Another way to find Creature Enamel is to set up a small base in the alien biome and place a Scanner Station inside. This makes it much easier than searching on foot, as the Scanner Station will show you exactly where the Creature Enamel is located. If you’re not familiar with Scanner Stations, we have a guide explaining how to use them to find resources.
Okay, so when I set up a base in the alien biome, I usually keep it pretty simple – just a single powered room with a Scanner Station is enough to get me started. I always try to build near one of those strong currents around there because Hydroelectric Turbines are a lifesaver for power. Luckily, you can grab everything you need right when you enter the biome, but if I really want to be prepared, I make sure I’ve got these materials with me beforehand:
- 14 Titanium
- 1 Quartz
- 4 Copper
- 3 Silver
- 1 System Chip
- 1 Wiring Kit
Using these materials, you can construct a Room, Hatch, Hydroelectric Turbine, Power Transmitter, Beacon, and Scanner Station. Once you’ve built a Scanner Station, you can use it to locate sources of Celestine, which is found in this area.
What Is Creature Enamel Used For?
Once you’ve gathered Creature Enamel, you can combine it with Glass at the Fabricator to make Enameled Glass. This stronger glass is then used to upgrade your vehicle at the Modification Station, helping you explore further and more effectively.
Creature Enamel Farming Tips
- Use a vehicle with high durability and power to reach the alien biome.
- Bring your Habitat Builder, Titanium, Quartz, Copper, Silver, a System Chip, and a Wiring Kit so you can set up a simple base with a Scanner Station.
- Affix a Portable Locker to your Tadpole for added storage.
- If you aren’t going to build vehicle facilities at your small base, bring an extra Power Cell for your Tadpole with you.
