Changpeng Zhao, the ever-charming Binance maestro, reassures the masses that quantum computing need not turn crypto into a tragic comedy.
In a post on X (the social platform formerly known as Twitter, because why not?), he delicately explained the solution: simply upgrade to quantum-resistant cryptography. How devilishly simple, really!
“Saw some people fluttering about quantum computing’s menace to crypto. At a high level, all one needs is a sprightly upgrade to Quantum-Resistant (Post-Quantum) Algorithms. So, dry those tears,” he quipped.
Yet, our dear CZ admits that orchestrating upgrades across decentralized networks may inspire heated debates over which algorithm wears the crown. Naturally, forks may sprout like mushrooms after rain.
“And some poor, lifeless projects may skip the upgrade entirely. Perhaps a cleansing is in order. New code might invite its own mischievous bugs. Those self-custodians will have the delightful task of migrating coins to fresh wallets,” he observed with a wink.

Satoshi’s Bitcoin: Sleeping Beauty or Ticking Time Bomb?
CZ turned his magnifying glass toward Bitcoin’s enigmatic creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, presumed holder of over a million BTC, untouched for decades. Quite the nap, one might say.
He hinted that if these coins remain in slumber as quantum wizardry matures, perhaps the community will need to lock them away or immolate them to thwart future scoundrels.

However, pinpointing Satoshi’s addresses without mistaking them for other early adopters remains an exquisite challenge. According to CZ,
“It’s a topic for another soirée. Fundamentally: Encryption is always easier than decryption. More computing power is ever so delightful. Crypto shall endure, post quantum.”
Rewind to 2010, and Bitcoin’s creator himself mused on potential signature threats of the future.
Satoshi Nakamoto anticipated quantum threats as early as 2010.
His strategy for $BTC involved a leisurely waltz toward stronger signature algorithms.

CZ’s recent remarks follow Google Quantum AI’s white paper, suggesting elliptic curve cryptography could be cracked with far fewer resources than anyone dared imagine.
Meanwhile, a joint study by Caltech and Oratomic showed that Shor’s algorithm can dance at a cryptographically relevant scale with a mere 10,000 qubits-a sharp dip from previous forecasts. Naturally, crypto circles are fluttering into a tizzy once more.
