Subnautica 2 Celestine Location & Farming Guide

Celestine is a resource you’ll find in Subnautica 2 that encourages you to explore further. It’s located in an alien area to the east of the thermal vents. You’ll be led to this biome after finishing a task in the Tadpole Pens, and it’s best to bring a vehicle and base-building supplies, including a Scanner Station, when you go.

Where to Find Celestine

Celestine Is Found in the Alien Biome

You’ll find Celestine in the alien biome, about 1,200 meters east of your Lifepod. It’s usually the third area players explore, located east of the hot biome and past the Collector Leviathan. Look for dark blue water and strange alien buildings. The Tadpole can help you safely navigate past dangerous creatures. Just remember to repair your vehicle before heading through, in case the Leviathan grabs you!

Celestine, a blue-silver ore that looks a bit different than Titanium with smaller bumps, can be found near the eastern side of the trench where the Collector Leviathan is. Look for it before you go up the cliff and start exploring the alien structures. If you prefer a safer spot, go deeper into the alien biome and check the rock walls south of the Alien Ruins marker – it’s about 290 meters away and at a depth of 250 meters or more.

Okay, so the Tadpole sub only goes down to 250 meters at the beginning, which means I’m probably going to have to dive deeper to reach those Celestine nodes. I really need to keep an eye on my oxygen levels, though – running out of air down there would be a disaster!

The Alien Ruins Waypoint Leads to the Area

Okay, so after you get past the locked door in the Tadpole Pens and talk to NOA, you’ll get a marker on your map for the Alien Ruins. You can grab Celestine before that, but honestly, she makes finding the Ruins way easier, so I’d suggest waiting until you have her with you first. It’ll save you a lot of running around!

Build a Scanner Station to Farm Celestine

Building a small base within the alien biome, and including a Scanner Station, greatly simplifies the process of locating Celestine. Initially, this base only needs to be a single room containing the Scanner Station, but you can always add to it later. I recommend building near a current, allowing you to power the base with Hydroelectric Turbines. You’ll find several suitable currents right after crossing the trench where you encounter the Collector Leviathan.

What Celestine Is Used For

Celestine lets you build Modification Stations, which are essential for improving your vehicles and tools. You can use these stations to make things like your Tadpole use less power, or to upgrade your Scanner into a more advanced Bioscanner. Because of this, finding Celestine is key to surviving longer and continuing your progress in the game.

Celestine Farming Tips

  • Make sure you have a vehicle with high durability and power before going after Celestine.
  • Bring your Habitat Builder and materials so you can set up a base with a Scanner Station in the alien biome. Titanium, Copper, Quartz, and Silver are all recommended.
  • Attach a Portable Locker to your Tadpole for additional inventory space.
  • Consider carrying an extra Power Cell for your Tadpole if you’re not planning to put vehicle facilities into your base immediately.
