To unlock the Observatory in Subnautica 2, you’ll need to repair the Power Plant generator. This involves several steps, starting with fixing the broken Turbine. You’ll also need to learn the alien language. This guide will walk you through everything required to restore power and open the Observatory in Subnautica 2.

How To Fix The Power Plant Generator In Subnautica 2

First, to fix the Power Plant Turbine, you need to collect:

  • 10 Titanium Ingot
  • 10 Strontium
  • 10 Mangalloy Ingot

You also need to:

  • Upgrade your Tadpole to dive deeper.
  • Upgrade your Scanner to become a Bioscanner.
  • Upgrade your Sonic Resonator to become a Feedback Resonator.
  • Clear the Alien Ruins Angel Comb underneath the Power Plant.

After that, go to the broken Power Plant Turbine. It’s right above the Alien Ruins Angel Comb.

Okay, so I finally got to the Turbine, and when I scanned it, it told me I need to find a Habitat Builder. Looks like that’s my next goal in Subnautica 2!

Now, use the materials you collected and processed to fix the broken Power Plant Turbine.

To turn on the Power Plant, go to the generator control rooms – both a lower and an upper one. You’ll find them close to the Turbine on the southeastern part of the Angel Comb.

Lower Generator Control

Okay, so getting the lower generator going is pretty easy. You just hit the button, and it gets the Power Plant partially online. After that, it’s all about getting to the upper generator control chamber – that’s where the real work begins!

Upper Generator Control

When you get to the generator controls, you’ll find three things you can use. They’re easy to figure out – the game will guide you through each step.

Each device uses buttons and sliders with clear indicators to guide you through the process.

It’s important to press the middle button after finishing all the buttons and sliders.

After you’ve finished with the two smaller mechanisms, go to the central one and press its button to turn on the Power Plant generator in Subnautica 2.

With the Power Plant now running, you can head to the Observatory. It’s located west of the Alien Ruins. Once there, simply use the button to open the gate and go inside to uncover its mysteries.

Unfortunately, I was surprised to find out it was the end of the early access for now.
